Why You'll Love This Recipe
- A playful, budget-friendly twist on classic lasagna using pantry-cheap ramen noodles.
- Comes together faster than boiling and layering traditional lasagna sheets.
- Just as cheesy and comforting as the original — a fun surprise for guests.
Ingredients Needed
- 4 packs ramen noodles (seasoning packets discarded)
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara or pasta sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper, to taste
How to Make Ramen Noodle Lasagna
- 1Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ramen noodles in boiling water for about 2 minutes, just until they separate — they'll finish cooking in the oven. Drain and set aside.
- 2In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic, breaking it up as it cooks, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 3Stir the marinara sauce into the skillet with the beef and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4In a bowl, mix the ricotta, egg, parmesan, and Italian seasoning until combined.
- 5Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer with a third of the ramen noodles, a third of the ricotta mixture, a third of the remaining meat sauce, and a third of the mozzarella. Repeat two more times, ending with mozzarella on top.
- 6Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
- 7Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
What to Add
Make it your own — here are a few ways to customize this bowl.
Vegetables
Sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini layer in nicely with the ricotta mixture.
Extra cheese
A layer of provolone or fresh mozzarella slices makes it even more indulgent.
Spice
Red pepper flakes in the meat sauce or a drizzle of chili oil on top adds heat.
Herbs
Fresh basil or parsley on top right before serving adds brightness.
